Dear Customer,

In recent months, we've observed a significant rise in attacks targeting WordPress sites. If you are using WordPress, it is crucial to ensure that WordPress itself, along with it's themes and plugins are all kept up to date. If you don't have a web designer here are the steps to update Wordpress:

cPanel Instructions

1. Login to cPanel.

2. Make a full backup of your site: Navigate to Tools > Files > Backup > Download a Full Account Backup.

3. Update WordPress to the latest version using the WP Toolkit: Go to Tools > Domains > WP Toolkit > Scan > Click on "Update to" the latest version.

We also recommend that all clients:

•  Upgrade to PHP 8.0 (or higher).

•  Set up Two-Factor Authentication in cPanel: Navigate to Tools > Security > Two-Factor Authentication.

•  Install the free Wordfence plugin to protect your site from attacks.

•  Make sure that SSL is enabled and clients are forced to use https://

If you have any questions or concerns about security, please feel free to reach out to us at support@webworld.ie
